Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of Bedexa, the property-management service at bedexa.com and its companion iPhone app (together, "Bedexa" or "the Service"). By opening an account or using the Service you agree to them on behalf of the property you work for.

1. What Bedexa is

Bedexa is software for running a small tourist accommodation business in the Maldives: bookings, guest registration, folios and payments, housekeeping, channel-manager synchronisation, expenses, and the reports and returns a guesthouse files with the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) and the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

Bedexa prepares those returns from the records your team enters. It does not file them, and it does not replace your accountant or your own review. You remain responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for what you file.

2. Accounts and access

Each property has an owner account, which is opened by invitation. The owner adds team members, assigns each a role, and may withdraw access at any time. Everyone who uses Bedexa must be a person your property has authorised, using their own account; accounts are not to be shared.

You may sign in with a password, with Apple, or with Google. A Google or Apple account signs in the team member whose email address matches the one on the team; it never adds anyone. Keep your credentials safe and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

3. Your data and your responsibilities

You own the data your property enters into Bedexa: bookings, guests, folios, payments, expenses and their attachments. Your property is the controller of its guests' personal data under whatever law applies to it, and you are responsible for collecting that data lawfully, including the identity details the Maldives requires you to record for every guest, and for telling your guests how it is used.

You agree not to use the Service to store anything you do not have the right to store, not to attempt to access another property's data, not to probe or disrupt the Service, and not to use it for anything unlawful.

4. Third-party services

Bedexa relies on third parties to work: hosting, object storage, the OpenAI service that reads photographed supplier invoices, the Beds24 channel manager when you connect it, and Apple and Google for sign-in. Their availability and terms are theirs. Where you connect an external service such as Beds24, you authorise Bedexa to exchange booking data with it on your behalf.

5. Availability, changes and support

We work to keep Bedexa available and correct, but it is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted service or of fitness for a particular purpose. We may change or improve the Service, and we will not remove a capability your filing depends on without notice. Support is by email at hickr@me.com.

6. Fees

Where fees apply, they are agreed with the property in writing separately from these terms. Non-payment may lead to suspension after reasonable notice; your data remains exportable during any suspension.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Bedexa is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, or for penalties arising from returns filed on the basis of records your team entered. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Bedexa at any time and ask us to close the property's account. We may end the agreement for a serious breach of these terms, with notice where practicable. In either case we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data before it is deleted, subject to any records we must keep by law.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, tell the property owner by email before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, and disputes are subject to the courts of the Maldives.
